Materials

  • - bags of ice cubes

Preparation

  • Aronia juice in ice cubes bags - Preparation step 1Aronia fruits (with bunches) are washed in 2-3 waters, more precisely they are put in a large container or even in the clean sink, let the water flow over them enough to cover them, let it sit in the water for 5 - 10 minutes, then give way to water, until it drains completely. This operation is repeated 2-3 times.

Aronia fruit bunches are placed on flat surfaces on kitchen towels and left to drain for ~1 hour to remove excess water.
  • Aronia juice in ice cubes bags - Preparation step 2After the aronia have dried, we separate the aronia berries from the bunches.
  • Aronia juice in ice cubes bags - Preparation step 3Next is the squeezing of the aronia berries with the help of a juicer, preferably with a screw shaft that works at low speeds (40-60 rpm) to avoid heating during squeezing.
If you like, you can also add a lemon to the juicer.
  • Aronia juice in ice cubes bags - Preparation step 4We pour the obtained juice into ice cubes bags, which we will freeze in the freezer. In about 2 hours they will be frozen.
  • The chokeberry pulp, obtained after squeezing, can be dried and used to make teas, especially in the cold season.
It can also be dried and then ground into powder. In this way, up to 3 teaspoons of powder are consumed per day before meals.
