If you have no other oils, you can use olive oil only. Optionally you can add 3-5 drops of one or more essential oils: peppermint, tea-tree, eucalyptus, cinnamon, thyme, argan,...
Close the container tightly and leave to macerate for 30 days in a dark, cool and dry place. As the nettles are dry, it is recommended to stir them every 2 days with a wooden spoon or by shaking the container. During maceration, the nutrients from the net net nettle will be transferred into the oil and you will notice that the oil will take on a darker color.
After maceration, strain the oil through a sieve or gauze and discard the macerated part of the plant (net nettle). Put the oil in a container, close the lid and store it in a cool, well-ventilated place away from light.
Observations
⚠ The proportions net nettle - oil are 1:4. That means for 100g nettles, we use 400g oils.
⚠ The advantage of using dried nettles is that the oil can be prepared at any time of the year.
⚠ This oil can also be used for internal use, provided the component oils are also for internal use!
⚠ S torage and shelf-life: it is recommended to store in dark, dark, light-proof glass containers in a dark, cool and well-ventilated place (closet, cellar). If stored properly, net net nettle oil can keep for up to 1 year. ⚠ It is recommended to keep it in small containers, and once opened, it is recommended to consume it within a maximum of one month, as the active elements will degrade in contact with air.
⚠ Do not refrigerate as olive oil solidifies.
