Materials

  • - fruit juicer with worm shaft
  • - knife
  • - container

Preparation

  • Unsweetened Sea Buckthorn Juice with Ginger and Lemon - Preparation step 1Sea buckthorn berries are detached from the twigs (with a of scissors), washed by rinsing in 2-3 waters, then left to dry on paper towels, on flat surfaces for about an hour.
  • Unsweetened Sea Buckthorn Juice with Ginger and Lemon - Preparation step 2We prepare the ginger and lemon for the juicer: we wash and peel the ginger and lemon. We will cut the ginger into pieces of about 1 cm, so that it can be easily squeezed, and we cut the lemon into slices.
  • Unsweetened Sea Buckthorn Juice with Ginger and Lemon - Preparation step 3Having all the ingredients ready, we will start squeezing with the help of a screw-driven juicer (cold squeezing, recommended at low speeds per minute ~ 40rpm).
Start with sea buckthorn berries, then, from time to time, add another piece / slice of ginger / lemon.
Lemon slices also have the role of decongesting the juicer sieve (fluidizes the juice and unclogs the sieve).
  • Unsweetened Sea Buckthorn Juice with Ginger and Lemon - Preparation step 4The formed juice is poured into glass containers that are hermetically sealed and stored away from light and cold (refrigerator).
  • Unsweetened Sea Buckthorn Juice with Ginger and Lemon - Preparation step 5The sea buckthorn and ginger pulp, obtained, is dried and can be used both in the preparation of teas and in the production of sea buckthorn powder (by grinding, after it has dried well). I prefer to remove the lemon pulp from the resulting pulp.
